The Bloomin’ Bluegrass Festival is celebrating 10 years of Bluegrass under the Texas sky   on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19, 2019.  Presented by the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation and Farmers Branch Special Events, this local favorite has been nominated for the 2014, 2017 and 2019 Bluegrass Event of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA).

In 2018 there were 12 musical acts but this year more than 20 bands are slated to take the stage at Farmers Branch Historical Park over the weekend, including Sam Bush Band, Kruger Brothers, Sierra Hull, and Del McCoury Band.

To accommodate the additional entertainment you’ll have to choose between the Main Stage and first year of the new Grassroots Stage.  The line-up for both stages is as follows:

Festival attendees are invited to make their own music in an impromptu jam session in the shade near one of the historical buildings in the park. Specialty arts and craft vendors will set up shop in the marketplace, offering unique items including art, jewelry and more. Food concessions will be available. No outside food, drinks or coolers are permitted at the festival, except for one factory sealed bottled water per person.

Bring a blanket for premium grass seating near the stage. To provide better visibility for all, lawn chairs are permitted in marked areas. Bring your own or rent them for $2 at the festival.

The Bloomin’ Bluegrass Festival is open from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday and 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. Parking is FREE and located at 12300 Ford Road, Farmers Branch, TX 75234 and handicap parking is available at Metro Business Square at 12300 Ford Road.  Check out the FAQ for answers and specific details.

The Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West is the official festival host hotel, with a discounted room block with rates starting at $99/night.  The Omni festival package also includes shuttle service to the festival, free parking, and free breakfast!

The Doubletree by Hilton Dallas-Farmers Branch is also a festival hotel and conveniently located next door to the Omni.  The Doubletree has a discounted room block available with shuttle service, free parking, and free breakfast.

Free dry RV camping is permitted in the parking lot at 11800 Ford Road, Farmers Branch, and full RV camping is available at nearby Sandy Lake RV Park.

The Bloomin’ Bluegrass Festival is one of many ways the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation preserves and promotes bluegrass music in Texas. The foundation is a non-profit organization and works to provide access to bluegrass instruments, music literacy and performance skill to young people through it’s Play it Forward® program.
