There’s no need to be frightened of a spooky celebration in Farmers Branch because we’re unraveling Halloween In The Branch, an electrifying twist from what was Halloween In The Park. The October 10-31 events include: Splashtacular Virtual Pumpkin Decorating Contest, Art in the Park Halloween Tote Bag Workshop, the 80s Monster Mash Jam, and the Tour of Frights.
SPLASHTACULAR VIRTUAL PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST

Tired of searching those dusty fields for your perfect pumpkin to carve or decorate? We are too! So this year we put a fun spin on the tradition by creating a patch at the Margaret Young Natatorium just for you! Stop by the Margaret Young Natatorium to receive a pumpkin and decorating kit during normal operating hours between October 10 through October 16, while supplies last. Decorate your pumpkin, take a photo and submit it to The Splashtacular Pumpkin Decorating Contest by October 17.
Direct message a photo of your decorated pumpkin to the #FBH2O Facebook Page. The contest runs from October 18 – 23 and pictures of the pumpkins entered will be posted on the Aquatics Center’s Facebook page with a number. The public will cast votes in the comment section by leaving a comment with the number of their favorite pumpkin. The most votes wins!
All photos and pumpkin decorations must be kid-friendly. Photos and pumpkin decorations depicting violence, political figures or messages, are religious in nature, or otherwise deemed inappropriate will not be accepted. ART IN THE PARK: HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT TOTE WORKSHOP
Create your own fabric for your Halloween Trick or Treat tote bag on Saturday, October 24 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.! Guests will screen-print fabric during the morning hours and learn how to use the sewing machine to sew their bag after lunch! This workshop is for ages 7 to 14 and includes a scavenger hunt and various games. The cost is $50 per person and includes all materials and a snack. Space is limited, pre-registration is required and the workshop will take place in the School House and outdoors at the Farmers Branch Historical Park. Face masks are required and attendees should bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Register online!
80S MONSTER MASH JAM

Break out your hairspray and acid-washed jeans, it’s an “80s Monster Mash Jam” spotlighting some of the biggest acts from that defining decade of music- Prince and Bon Jovi! Two of the hottest tribute bands in all of Texas, Remembering Prince, and Blaze of Glory- The Bon Jovi Tribute, will get your Halloween weekend started off with a rockin’ and funk-filled night to remember!
The gates open at 7:00 p.m. and the Costume Contest winner will be announced at 8:45 p.m. The event is located at the Farmers Branch Historical Park, 2450 Farmers Branch Lane and free parking is available at The Counter Source at 12400 Ford Road. Learn more about the 80s Monster Mash Jam

Keeping social distancing and public safety in mind, the annual Halloween in the Park has been re-imagined into a drive-thru family-friendly Halloween spooktacular Tour of Frights! The Farmers Branch Historical Park transforms into an avenue of thrills and chills on Halloween night. This safe alternative to traditional trick-or-treating brings all the treats to you. Families are invited to wear their Halloween costumes, decorate their vehicles and cruise the Historical Park as nightfall begins.
*Note: Take Ford Rd. North from 635 service road. No entrance at Farmers Branch Rd.
*Prepackaged trick or treat bags will be distributed to each child in costume, while supplies last.
A canned food drive benefitting Metrocrest Services will also be taking place. Event attendees may bring canned goods to donate. A donation is not required for a trick or treat bag.

*Remain in your vehicle. No walkthroughs.
*Props/toys that may be perceived as weapons are not permitted into the Park.
